Then it should come up to the review. Choose the ratings and then fill out the other lines. They're all required but they don't have to be long. Then click the Submit Review button.

You should see a window with this message (in green near the top - the mouse pointer is pointed to it.)

Your review won't immediately show up. We have to approve them first. We're happy to approve them from all customers regardless of the rating, but we're trying to avoid those spammers with their links to adult sites, etc.

If instead of seeing that green message above, you saw an error message, please make note of it and send us an email so we can resolve the problem.

Next to the size, you'll see the price adjustment for that size. Generally, the main price listed is that of the Regular size. Next to the pull-down or checkbox for Small, you'll see the adjustment for that size. For example, most cotton scrunchies cost $5,95 for the Regular size. Next to Small, you'll probably see -.20. When you click on the Small size, the price at the top will change to $5,75 reflecting that .20 adjustment. With the size chosen, you can now Add to Cart.

If you're not sure which size to get, you can find out about sizes a couple of ways. First, you can look at the pictures associated with a scrunchy that you're considering buying. Many times there are multiple pictures on the product page - generally two for each size: one with a ruler next to it and one without. If you click on any small picture, it will open another (smaller) window so you can see it in more detail. You can see the size indicated in the header of that picture. Within that (smaller) window, you can move through all of the smaller pictures using the Next and Previous buttons below the image. Alternatively, you can get a detailed description of the sizes on the Sizes Explained page.

Log in first using the link at the top of any page or login from here when you're done reading this. Then find the item you want to review.  Click on the item so that it's the only thing on the screen. The page will be in a format similar to this page.To the right of the large picture there should be several links - "Email to a Friend", "Be the First to Write a Review" (or just "Write a Review" if there's already one) and "Sign Up for Price Alert." When you click on the "Be the First to Write a Review" link, your browser will open to a page with some multiple choice questions and a box to put comments in. Be sure to fill out all items that have a star next to them. When you're done, click the Submit Review button at the bottom of the screen. Your browser will open the page again with a highlighted bar near the top that says "Your review has been accepted for moderation." Your review won't show up on the site until after we've approved it (we only do this to keep the spammers out.) After we've approved your review, we'll add the Style Points to your account. As of Jan 20, 2011 we're having a temporary problem with hair-scrunchies.com and headbandits.com shopping carts. When you try to checkout, it empties the shopping cart. If you encounter this problem, you can go back (in your browser) a page or two and see what's in the shopping cart where you started. A work-around we have found is to write down or print what's in your cart. Then go to www.PennysBoutique.com and using the search feature you can locate what you were trying to buy and put it in your cart. You should not experience any major changes in your shopping or checking out. There were some upgrades to the system for administrative purposes primarily but also to fix the Style Points (also known as Reward Points.) With the Style Points you can see more detail as to the source of the points - making it easier to confirm that it's working properly and that you've gotten credit for all of your purchases, reviews, referrals, etc. If you do find that anything is missing, please let me know and I will fix it just as soon as possible.

So I'm going to change my settings so that backorders are possible. There will be a comment under the item in your shopping cart that will say

* This product is not available in the requested quantity. X of the items will be backordered. 

In most cases, it will simply be a matter of my adjusting the numbers of the other sizes for that same fabric. There should not be a delay for those 'backordered' items. If I find there will be a delay, I will let you know as soon as possible,

Finally, I will 'turn off' backorders for fabric that's running low that I cannot reorder. So you might find that you can't get as many of an item as you'd like. If and when that heppens, please let me know - I'll see if I can find a similar fabric for you.

I'd also be tickled to hear suggestions for the blog name. While 'Penelope's Weaving' sounded sort of cute to me, it's a little of a stretch. Do you know the story of Penelope? Here's the story per Wikipedia. I don't weave any of my fabric and to call my writing 'weaving' (as in weaving a story) is quite a stretch.

But have you thought about all of those sayings with Penny in them? Not many of them are relevant and some are even negative. I learned a couple of new ones too. Did you know that "Spend a Penny"means to use a public bathroom? I definitely want to stay away from that one.  

I'd love to hear any and all suggestions and ideas and what you think about the name I gave the blog. I'm not very creative with words. When I told my daughter that I'd decided on Penny's Boutique, LLC as a company name she told me it make her think of those billboards along the highway for the adult stores.  That was definitely not what I was going for, but it was a fait accompli at that point. 

Regardless of the name, I'll use this blog to tell you about the site features (I'm still learning them) and to fill you on new fabrics and colors and new products.

When adding the blog, I made some changes to the navigation so you might find some menu items that have moved. Here's a quick rundown of the links we moved:

• The link to the blog "Penelope's Weaving" is on the very top menu of every page. Also you can find a box on the right side of the page that lists the blog categories.

We also added some links in the footer. On the left is a 'Store Switcher'so you can easily hop back and forth among our sites. And there's a link to our pages in Facebook - we have a Facebook page for each of the sites.
